BEVERLY HILLS, CA October 24,2004 - I.M. Chait Gallery/Auctioneers, leaders in Fine Asian artifacts and collectibles will feature a grand collection from across the Asian continent this coming Sunday, October 24th 2004. From fine ivories, exquisite jades and a large and beautiful opium bed, there is sure to be something for everyone in this great sale.

Among the items that will be available for bidding are:

A very unusual and very elaborately carved Chinese celadon jade double vase of somewhat honorific form, carved allover with various high relief and open work hydra, the base fully reticulated open work, the cover with matching hydra, four loose ring handles ($2000-3000);

A large and very elaborately decorated antique Japanese Satsuma tripod koro and cover, shi-shi feet, panels with figural designs, elaborate florals, cover with finely modeled shi-shi, circa 1900 ($600-800);

A beautiful, massive and old Chinese rosewood opium bed, with well carved details to back and sides, circa 1900; L: 77" ($1000-1250)

A small and antique Chinese six-panel screen, each panel with an ink and color painting on silk of figural scenes set in various garden settings, with glass and set in well carved hinged wood frames, late 19th Century; H: 36" ($600-800);

A Chinese Jin-type blue-celadon crackle glazed bottle vase with a splash of flambé, onion form mouth, possibly Ming; H: 11 1/2" ($600-800);

A pair of tall and well carved and detailed Chinese ivory urns and covers, bird and floral panels, lion mask with loose ring handles, covers with crane and pine finials ($1200-1800);

A large Chinese zitan wood brush pot, the exterior with finely carved and appliqué design of various foliage ($1000-1250);

A group of five well modeled Tang Dynasty pottery equestrians, each with much original remaining painted decorations, Chinese, soldiers and musicians ($3500-4500);

A very finely detailed, Chinese carved, whitish-celadon jade wrist rest with design of boys playing in a garden ($1200-1500);

An elaborate, three piece Italian gilt metal and ceramic garniture set: clock and pair of candelabra, the face of clock signed Imperial Company, putti and fowl design, with key candelabra H: 27" ($500-700);

A very well carved large Chinese lapis lazuli model of two boys at play, possibly the Ho-Ho twins, inlaid wood stand ($500-600);

An elaborately decorated and large antique Chinese lacquered Elmwood cabinet, painted lacquer and carved gilt decorations on doors, the interior with shelves, drawers and secret compartment in bottom H: 72 1/2" ($600-700);

Upcoming events at the I.M. Chait Gallery include the much-anticipated November 21st International Fine Art sale that will feature an important group of Chinese blue and white porcelains, Japanese Netsuke and Inro, Chinese archaic Bronzes, carved Jades and early Ceramics as well as European and American art, antiques and furnishings and fine jewelry from Beverly Hills and West Hollywood Estates.

The October 24th Collection previews daily from 11:00am to 5:00pm, from October 19th to the 23rd. The Antiques and Estates Auction will be held on Sunday, October 24th 2004, at 1:00pm.
