Collection of six Russian medals commemorating the Space Conquerors of the USSR: set of two silver medals of Yuri Gagarin, one stamped with .925 fineness and limited edition 736/1500, showing his visage on one side, obverse with burning sun; the other medal of his profile and 1961 on verso; one 1963 gold medal depicting Valentina Tereshkova, her profile to one side, the obverse with Sputnik Monument, 25mm, stamped .900 fineness; set of two 1965 Alexey Leonov gold and silver medals, gold stamped .900 fineness, each with his profile; and a gold 1966 medal gold of the Luna-9 Space Probe – first artificial satellite to land on the moon, one side showing the probe above the moon, the obverse with a radiant Soviet Arms within a five-sided reserve, 1966 on beam beneath, mintage of 2,018; all presented with rim bumps in individual plastic cases; Provenance: Estate of Ralph Turner; presented together in a large display case, with identifying plaques, as well as a large collection plaque
