SUPERB FOSSIL PALM MURAL
Notogenus osculus, Cockerelities liops, Diplomystus dentatus, Knightia eocaena
Eocene
Green River Formation, Lincoln Co, Wyoming

The massive palm fronds of the Green River formation are notoriously difficult both to find and to extract, but they make for an incredibly striking wall plaque which perfectly conjures the aura of this 50 million year old tropical lake system, further abetted here by a spectacular 18 1/2 inch Notogoneus osculus, a nocturnul bottom-feeder, two equally fine predatory D.dentatus, and the sprat-like knightia, handsomely framed in harmony with the rich brown of the fish to offset the peaceful pale tint of the palm itself, 49 x 97 inches overall, with French cleat and certificate of authenticity.
